LOKASI Jambatan Sungai Kelamah. Berhampiran Felda Sungai Kelamah, jalan Tampin-Gemas. Kira-kira 40km dari Tampin dan kira-kira 10km dari Gemas. PERISTIWA Tugu ini dibina sebagai memperingati bekas-bekas Tentera Australia dan Jepun serta keluarga mereka yang terkorban semasa berlakunya peperangan antara Batalion Australia ke-2/30 dengan Tentera Jepun pada 14 Januari 1941.
Dalam peperangan ini, Tentera Australia yang diketuai oleh Lt. Kol. Gallaghan telah melakukan serang hendap terhadap kemaraan askar-askar Jepun ke Tampin. Pertempuran telah meletus dan berlarutan ke hari berikutnya. Pertempuran ini telah menyebabkan ramai Tentera Jepun terkorban dan pada 15 Januari 1941, sepasukan Tentera Jepun yang lain telah tiba dan menyebabkan Tentera Australia terpaksa berundur ke Segamat.
Dalam usaha menghalang kemaraan Tentera Jepun, jambatan kayu yang merentangi Sungai Gemencheh di Kampung Sungai Kelamah yang menghubungkan Tampin dengan Gemas terpaksa diletupkan. Tapak jambatan dan beberapa tiangnya masih kekal hingga ke hari ini.
